Give me your first name and email address, and I'll send you a

computer screen, print it, or even let your computer read it to
you aloud for your pleasure and education. It's a fascinating book.
In
addition, I'll send you a short email every month or two -- or
less -- when I make significant changes or additions to the No
Bull Website. Click here for your gifts.

I'll
never share your name or email address, and you can easily stop

On
the Origin of Species
by Charles Darwin (1859)
To
download this FREE ebook, I ask you to use the link in the column at
the left side of this page. I'll also keep you updated several times
a year when I've made major changes to the No Bull Website.
Everything else on this page may be downloaded directly from below.
I
will not share your information, and every Update will have a
working "Unsubscribe" link near the bottom.
I've
reformatted this huge classic into a 584-page ebook. It's a big file
(2,287 kb), so it's going to take a while to download over a modem.
If you have broadband, it won't be bad.
I
tried to zip it up; but it compresses less than 10%, because
PDF is already compressed. I decided that wasn't enough to bother
with. Sorry the file is so big, but it's a big book.
If
it becomes necessary, I'll make this available on a CD and mail it
to you for three or four dollars to cover my cost. Please let me
know if you have trouble downloading it.
Tammy
Kitzmiller v. Dover Area School District
by United
States District Judge John E. Jones III (December 20, 2005)
This
139-page document is the ruling
in the recent "intelligent design" (ID) case in Dover, PA.
In it, Judge Jones rules that ID is religion and not science.
Therefore, he says it would be unconstitutional to teach it in
public school classes; and he forbids its teaching in any
school within the Dover Area School District.
This is the document in
which he refers to "The breathtaking inanity of the Board’s
decision" to present evolution as bad science and refer the
students to a basically religious book for information about ID
instead. He continues, "The students, parents, and teachers of
the Dover Area School District deserved better than to be dragged
into this legal maelstrom, with its resulting utter waste of
monetary and personal resources."
This
is a carefully reasoned, detailed document with clear guidance for
other school boards who might be tempted to teach religion as
science. And
it's actually written mostly in plain, everyday English that even
non-lawyers can understand.
Judge
Jones was appointed by the current President Bush. It would be a
great time for our nation and the world if all his appointments were
to turn out so well. This ruling by Judge Jones makes it possible to
hope.
Note:
Before Judge Jones made this ruling, the people of Dover had already
removed the eight school board members who had promoted ID and
replaced them with more scientifically literate members. The newly
restructured board had already voted to reverse the action of the
old board, so there appears to be no question of an appeal in the
case.
To
download a PDF document . . .
If
you're using Internet Explorer on Windows, right click the link and
select "Save Target As ..." from the pop-up menu. If you
save the file to your desktop, you can double-click its icon to read
it. With a different browser or operating system, the procedure is
essentially the same; but the menu options may be worded slightly
differently.
To
read a PDF document . . .
You
need Adobe Reader on your computer. PDF documents are compatible
with virtually all computers, but you'll need a copy of Adobe
Reader. It's probably already installed, and you won't need to worry
about it. But if you don't have it, you can download a free copy
from Adobe.com.
